An authentic southern summertime is spent on a front porch of a historic home, not hiding the inability move much after polishing a seven-course feast. This is what happens, at least, at Bernadette's in Burnside, a Cajun-French fusion of fine dining. However, some menu items, such as this carpaccio roll asparagus (pictured), can be just right for foodies not wanting to fill up as mid-May reaches 90 degrees. The summer menu has yet to be finalized, but Chef Gerard Hemery of Brittany, France, tells 225 Dine to look for lighter dishes such as pan-sauteed fresh scallops belle terre with two large shrimp in a light lemon butter sauce and fresh salmon filet with dill buerre blanc.
