The Roberts recently opened their latest endeavor, the fine-dining Bernadette's Restaurant. It is housed in an 1840's-era structure acquired from Home Place Plantation in nearby Convent.
Seating 46, dinner is served by appointment on Thursday through Saturday, 5-9 p.m. [General Manager] Joel Robert says the prix fixe five- or seven-course meals include paired wines; a la carte items in the Cajun-French fusion vein are also available. Diners shell out $100 each for the upscale experience presented by Executive Chef Gerard Hemery.
"We did some fine-dining catering at Houmas House and fell in love with it," Robert relates. "We found out we're good at it." The natural next step was, of course, Bernadette's.
